The Enchanting House

Wow, it’s been a while since i lasted visited myself.. feels strange, foreign, unfamiliar. things in life are like that. you walk through a forest, tall trees surrounding you, the sun’s rays shine through the tree canopy and reaches the ground, where you stand, you feel the warmth of the sun. you see a welcoming path leading to a house, very enchanting, very enticing… treasures that you can find in the house.

you leave the house to explore the surrounding forest area. walking on to the next interesting spot that you see, taking afew more steps to the next flower that caught your sight, excitedly quickening your pace to chase the next beautiful butterfly in the near distance…. and you are lost. where’s the house that you walked out from?? trying to trace back your steps to the house, but in vain. the harder you try to guess the direction, the more confused you feel. you are lost.

over time, the little bushes and seedlings outside the house grow into long twines and messy chunks of green leaves, covering the path to the main door. you no longer know how to get back to the house. even removing the vines and branches of the overgrown plants seems like such a daunting and overwhelming task. walking through the path seems no longer possible. no courage to walk back, for fear of the thorns on the plants that might prick you, and the creepy-crawlies that have established themselves within the overgrown things. will you ever get back?

some houses have treasures that are worth risking getting pricked by the thorns. some houses are simply closed to you forever, yet there will be other houses with other treasures waiting for you to unfold. That is how God’s will is like. when we walk away from the treasure that he presents to us, it becomes more difficult to retrieve it. yet, he opens up other doors that is the best in that situation.

For He knows best the plans He has for us. plans to prosper, not for woe"
